Update on Filming By Razia
*Sometimes we would be accidentaly filming and we would not not realise that the camera is rolling and it would record our conversations
*Sometimes the tripod would not set up straight, this would mean that the shot we were filming would not be straight
*Certain shots we filmed are not steady but a little shaky whilst filming

Evaluation
For our preliminary task we had to demonstrate skills like camera work such as shot reverse shot without breaking the 180 degree rule, match on action. We had to think carefully before we shot a scene like what type of camera work it should be as it creates meaning, for example a low angle shot of a person could convey superiority or a high angle shot of a person could show that the person is inferior. We had to show that we can use a tripod. As well we had to edit the scenes on the laptops on iMovie to make sure that the audience can understand the story line.
We used props such as handcuffs so the audience would understand which character is which; so it would be easy for the audience to know that the person with the handcuffs is the prisoner. We used dialogues so that it would make it easier for the audience to know what the situation is, and to make it more interesting.
From the task I’ve leant how to use the video editing software to make our film look better and professional, I did this by using a variety of effects and transitions and also by adding sub titles and non- diagetic sound that best suits the genre of our film this makes it more artistic. I found the editing more straightforward than using a camera to shoot because there are lots of things to consider whilst filming such as angle shots, distance how far or close the camera should be and also to make sure there isn’t any excess space left whilst filming. However I have also leant that it is better to keep the story line simple as it would be easier to shoot and we could be more creative with our editing, and the use of props and costumes. If we had a complicated storyline it would be hard to convey what is happening and to create meaning, more editing time might be needed.
For the preliminary task I contributed to the group by being the camera person I had to take into account what effects best suits a particular scene such as whether it should be shot reverse shot, continuous shot and etc. in addition I also had to bear in mind the lightening and the setting, as the surroundings also create meaning in the film.
To improve our work the targets I would set my group for the main task would be to be more organized, so get the storyboard completed this way we would know the location of our film and would not fail to bring any props or costumes needed for our filming. Also to come out with the best results, it would be better as a group if we know each others strengths and weaknesses and take on the roles that we are most suitable at, this way things would be done much quicker and it would be less stressful to get everything done on time.

Evaluation of Prelimanary Task By Razia
Whilst we were doing our preliminary task the skills we were asked to demonstrate were: a range of different shots, holding the camera still when appropriate, using shot reverse shot, using close ups, match on action, using I movie to edit our piece properly, not breaking the 180 degree rule and also making sure that when we were filming we were using the tripod properly.
When we were filming our preliminary task, we used dialogue to give the story meaning so we can interest the audience and get them to watch and listen to what is happening in the story, the dialogue would be an expansion on the actions of the characters. We used props such as handcuffs to give the audience a small clue about what is happening in the story, also because of the use of the handcuffs the audience will know which character is the criminal and who is not. We did not use many effects during this task but this could be a target for our main task as we did not complete it during our preliminary exercise.
At first I did now know much about using the camera and editing films but as we used them more and more, I got better but personally I found using the camera much easier than editing films on I movie, this is because when you use the camera you can easily figure out how to use it and most effects on it more quicker whereas on I movie it is more complicated and therefore more harder for me to use.
I contributed to the group as I was acting in the film. I had to think about how I would use my body language effectively within my role, how I would change the tone of my voice and what I would say to represent the character I was playing. I also had to think about what facial expressions I would put on, as this would have an impact on what or how my character is feeling. I think that I could have improved my acting in the preliminary exercise as I could have put more effort into emphasising my actions.
For our main task the main target would be to plan everything properly, the location, props, costume, dialogue, camera shots and usage as this would give us a proper guidelines to follow when filming and would keep us to the task and not waste time on other things. Another target is to use different shots when filming and adding on effects while editing on I movie.

Thrillers are categorized by fast pacing, frequent action, and resourceful heroes who must prevent the plans of more-powerful and better equipped villains. There is use of elements such as suspense, misleading clues, and cliff-hangers are used a lot as well. Thrillers take place in different settings such as exotic settings, foreign cities, deserts and even small town places.
The conventions of our genre that is thriller fits in with our scene because we have a similar plot to many films that are in the genre of thriller such as many films have the main characters losing their memory, and they are trying to find out their purpose, and making sense of everything by putting the jigsaw of their life together.
